Is 200 ml sub q fluids per day too much for a 13 pound cat that is going through a pancreatitis episode?
I've already given CJ 100 ml sq today but since she isn't eating, the vet said to give another 100 ml.
Does this sound too high?
CJ doesn't have heart or kidney issues.

Sorry to put the 911 but am pretty desperate right now.
It's OK for a day or two provided the previous fluids have been absorbed.

After a day or two though I would lower it to no more than 150/day. The rule of thumb is 10 ml for every pound.

Does he have a squishy spot? Like the fluids lump is gone?

If you pull on his scruff does it snap back in 2-3 seconds, or is it taking longer? Do the gums feel wet or "sticky".

Scruff feels fine but gums feel a little sticky. Thanks about the lump.

Ok then give the 100ml tonight. :). My cat was 15 lbs and had pancratitis. I think we did 200 for 2 days then did 100-150 for a week before going back to his usual 100 every other day. His pancratitis was caught pretty early and so he recovered fairly quickly.

The rule for sub q fluids is Weight (in kgs) x .02 OR if the cat is dehydrated or needs it for a specific therapy, it's Weight (in kgs) x .05 at the maximum

So for a 13lb cat, that's 120cc's (at .02 per kg) to no more than 300cc's (at .05 per kg) per day

Here's an informative (and entertaining) video

When you went back to 100 every other day was that to keep the pancreatitis from returning?
