!!!! Fluffy at 400! Is he rebounding? Using Novolin N...

Fluffy got out of his remission unfortunately and diagnosed with diabetes again Oct 5th. Our vet said that in the bloodwork that there is suspected to be a slight kidney infection, so he gave him a shot of antibiotics that will last two weeks.

Today he tested at 7:00 pm at 400!! so I gave him 0.75 U of NPH. Two hours later, at 9 am, and he reads at 217. He dropped over 200 in 2 hours. I feel like this is way too fast...?

Last night at 10:30, he tested at 157, and I gave him 0.25... (I also gave him 2 cans just in case he may have been getting close to hypo, but turns out he only ate one)I'm guessing he might be bouncing I hate this crappy insulin! He did not get well regulated on NPH when he was ; he only went into remission because I simply changed his diet from dry food to Fancy Feast Classics.

Fluffy is eating his Fancy Feasts Classics normally, drinking liquids well. Today I'm going to get keto-diastix, hopefully they sell them at Walmart. I've been sniffing his breath, so far, it smells like yummy cat food, not like nail polish.

He is eating throughout his dose so hopefully that will ease his drop. I am trying to adhere to a strict dosing schedule, but it is difficult since there are other factors not due to his food; I think because of his slight infection. :/

Please let me know if I need to clarify anything on my spreadsheet. It's messy. I've been able to stay back home from Friday evening to Tuesday morning, so I will be watching him closely. My mom is trying to learn as fast as she can while I'm gone to school from Tuesdays thru Fridays, so it's been hard...

I almost just want to not give him any insulin for his next scheduled dose at 3 pm. I guess we'll see how the numbers go. This insulin is way too harsh on him.

@Larry and Kitties I'm sorry I'm trying to jam pack information that might be useful. If you click on the cell, you should be able to view the writing. Fluffy's dosing for the past few days because of me being at school has been off by about an 1 or 2 a few times.

11/5/2016: It was 300 at the vet in the morning. When I got home, I tested him at 8 pm, which read 286. I gave him <0.5 Units.

11/6/2016: I woke up in the morning at 6 am, tested him at 216. I pre-filled 0.5 Units for my mom to give him, which she gave at 8:30 am, but she was worried it was a fur shot. She tried to do testing, but she is still new and had trouble. I got back home and tested him at 244 at 2 pm, and immediately gave him 0.5 Units at 2 pm. BG at 5 pm was 97, BG at 7 pm was 84, BG at 9 pm was 136, and BG at 10:30 pm was 152. Gave <0.25 Units immediately at 10:30 pm.

11/7/2016: BG at 5:00 am in the morning was 222. Prefilled syringe to 0.25. Mom was a little more confident he got his insulin. She dosed him the prefilled 0.25 Units at 8 am. Could not get any BG tests until I came home at 5:30 pm. BG at 5:30 pm was 326, immediately gave 0.5 Units. BG at 7:30 pm was 186, BG at 9:30 pm was 218 (stressful, mom tried to do it), and BG at 10:30 pm was 152, decided to give 0.25 Units at 10:30 pm immediately.

11/8/2016: BG at 7:00 am in the morning was 400. Gave 0.75 (highest dose he may have rebounded last night...). Made sure he was eating more in the morning to help slow down the harsh insulin. BG at 9 am was 216. BG at 11 am was 247. (He had been eating an hour before)
EDIT: BG tested 3 times at 2 pm, levels at 365, 265, and 290. ??? Ate a little bit.

Sorry again about the mess. I'm trying to find a good schedule and way to organize this mess...
