Flaxseed Oil

Hello, can cats have human Flaxseed Oil? I don’t know that it is Cancer, she has a mass and I am going to start supplementing her diet by using the Budwig diet in addition to her cat food.

What research have you done on this protocol?
If this is only a description and testimonials, those aren't very useful.
Also, it isn't a balanced diet for cats and may cause harm/death if used that way over a long period.
If there was a double-blinded research study finding results, I'd be more likely to think it has real benefit.

Keep in mind that 'tumor' equals a growth which could be benign or malignant. You can't really tell without a biopsy.

Hi & thank you for your reply I agree this is not a balanced diet for felines - I'm approaching it as a treat BID. I also understand growth does not necessarily equate Cancer; I'm trying to be proactive with a holistic approach & accept results or no results as they come - I'm not having it biopsied because she is a kitty who appears traumatized for days after a wellness vet visit. She has gained 3lbs in 1.5 years (chubs lol), blood work is great & no symptoms or signs. I am hoping to find out if human Flaxseed Oil can be used for felines or if it needs to be feline specific. Thanks!

I am not sure about the flaxseed oil, but I know there is flaxseed in the Missing Link supplements for cats. http://www.missinglinkproducts.com/index.php/products/cat/product/1-ultimate-feline-formula This used to be carried at PetSmart, but I have not seen it there in a long time. Petco also carries it.
