I got so excited this morning when we started the day in yellow (238). We were finally seeing MAJOR improvement in the last two days. But all of his numbers are pretty similar today. At least no pink for now.

Could it be that I didn't do the shot properly this morning? What could explain no changes in numbers?

Sometimes cats just have flat cycles, but for some cats, flat yellow means action in the cycle following. I'm curious to see what happens tonight.

Oh good to know. Thank you!

I've been so careful with his shots lately because I don't think I was doing a really great job at first. Hoping we see some action in his cycle tonight.

Wendy knows what she is talking about... both Wendy and Karen told me this and now i can pick it out more and more in Lincolns SS... you will start to see the trends more and more... looking forward to your numbers tonight... come on Noah lets see you work that juice

@Wendy&Neko has really been amazing to me since I got on this board. Always takes the time to answer my questions.

This place is really amazing. I feel like I can talk about my diabetic cat all the time here and people get where I'm coming from.

Noah is a bit up (should not have said earlier we didn't see pink today) but I'm hoping he comes down a lot tonight. He just seems so better... I just wish I could see it in his numbers as well.

Wishing you and Lincoln a great night with nice numbers!

if you look at Lincolns SS.... Jan 25 ... look how flat he was!! i actually double tested then tested another kitty cause i got the same reading over the course of hours... then he had a rise at the end of the flat ... then comes the drop... so the numbers coming up is totally something to look for after a flat period...

You will see it more and more with the numbers... and it is amazing to have a place where people understand where you are coming from and what you are going through.... sending good numbers for Noah real soon!!

Thank you! It means a lot having a place and people to share this experience with. Comforting words are always helpful when you're not seeing the numbers you were hoping to see.

340 at +2. I'm going to bed. What looked like a promising day (lowest AMPS yet) ended up not so great. :(

Ugh! :banghead: It's ECID on the flat yellow cycles. For Neko, a flat yellow cycle just meant a flat yellow cycle and not enough juice. On the up side, Noah is making progress. This dose looks much better. I'd still give it another day and then re-evaluate it.

Hello Melanie,
Do you shoot 4 units of Lantus twice a day? Noah's spreadsheet lokks good. My kitty has an unstable diabetes I can't manages it, I haven't find the right dose , yet.:arghh:

dont be discouraged... i know its frustrating but it will start to change

Thank you for the kind words! I really needed them! We're having a better day today and are seeing blue again. I just need to remember his little (maybe not so little) body needs to get used to these lower numbers again. Wishing you and Lincoln a good day with good numbers!

It means so much to me that day after day you take the time to give me some kind words and advice for Noah. We are seeing blue again today (I think I'm starting to see a pattern and NOah seems to go lower at about +9). I will be at work all day Tuesday so I will wait until Tuesday night to make any increase to his dose if necessary. We're not quite there yet, but I need to remember that he needs to get use to these lower numbers again. I'm finally starting to see some progress (at least I think he is making progress).

Hi Andrea. Yes, Noah is quite the big boy (21 lbs) and he is receiving two doses of 4 units per day. His numbers weren't that good until we got to 4 units and we are finally seeing some progress. Don't get discouraged, you will get there. I know increasing the dose is not fun, but some cats just seem to need a bit more. I know Noah does! Hoping some Lantus expert can give you more advice with your cat. I'm still pretty new at this (Noah only got the diagnosis on December 22nd).

Just posted a comment on your page. Noah had a lot of yellows and some blues in the last couple of days and his body seems to be fighting it. We are back in pink tonight so looks like a dose increase for Noah tomorrow night or Wednesday morning! At least I'll be able to get some sleep tonight since I have to go to the office tomorrow. Nice of Noah to keep his numbers up on the one night before he knows I have to go to the office ;) but I'd like some blue and green please. Thank you for checking in on us and hoping we'll get our furbabies in better numbers soon!

i know the frustration... when you hit the dose the numbers will move ... being patient is the hardest part... have a great day tomorrow :)
