I don't see any ramp up time for Lev. I stopped giving insulin to Kiki on Saturday, wasn't sure if all the fur loss and the drama at shot time was an allergy to insulin. On Tuesday the vet said to start again. She got insulin twice yesterday, numbers were in the 300s, this mornings preshot was 190. I'd start the Lev, if you're more comfortable starting at 1/2U than 1U do that.
When drawing a small amount, I'm sure you already know this, but what we do is when we pull the syringe from the wrapper I pull up the plunger first to break the seal the stopper might have already with the barrel. Then push the plunger back down. Insert into the pen, I draw a little over the desired amount and then using the plunger like a screw I push down and turn the plunger in circles as I do, it helps prevent the air bubbles. Wish I could tell you who on the PZI group posted that, but she was right, I haven't had to deal with air bubbles since I starting circling the plunger downward.
