Ok, I know that's most likely a stupid question, but wanted to make sure. ;-) I'm seeing some higher quality dry foods (yes, yes, I know about dry..) that are low carb, meat as the first ingredient, grain free.. but then they ruin(?) it with "fish meal"?? This is Blue Buffalo's grain-free 'Wilderness' food. One was duck, and one was Chicken.. both have fish meal in the ingredients. They say they use the fish meal for the omega's in the food. If a cat has fish allergies, does fish meal count??
Just trying to rule out as much as possible for Kami's issues.. http://felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=40566
She REALLY didn't like the Blue Buffalo Wilderness wet foods, so we're trying the Wellness chicken & turkey flavors for now. Holistic food store is closed on Sundays, so Wellness will have to do until I can get to the other store!
Just wondering if most foods use 'fish meal' to get the omega oils in the food, or if that's not necessary..? I just know I have a lot of fish allergies myself, and can't take fish oil.. I have to take flaxseed oil. Guessing it's the same with cats?? (I don't know w/ Kami yet, just trying to find a food she'll eat that is grain-free & fish-free first!)
