Kikko Cardio Update********
Cardio went well. He has some heart disease going on but nothing g that would not be expected in a 14 year old cat.
We received RX for meds plavix and benazepril.
No heart failure yet. Just got to keep an eye on him.
today we were able to get BG at home one at 372 and one at 376. Mind you he has not started meds for that yet. That appointment is Tuesday.
I do have a question though. How long does a low carb food diet take to see results in cats? He was 454 at the vet and that was on the 15th. He start low carb life on the 18th when we got his lab results in.
Thank you!

So newly diagnosed less than a week ago.
here is how it is gone.
Read A LOT from this group, thank you
ordered a BG monitor started some testing. Really sucked at it. But getting better. two tests so far performed. 379 and 400. His lab results had him at 454 last week. We plan to do the curve tmrw.
Moved Kikkoman onto wet only food Tiki Cat for starters, he already liked it. It has only been 4 days on wet only. I can tell he misses the dry but we will continue the wet path forward but he loves his fortiflora so we use that.
His BP came down with the heart med from 190 to 150 at recheck.
Thursday is cardio. I still cannot hear the gallop the vet said he had. I am familiar with it because I had a cat that had one before. I listen often.
So thank you all and I will soon get my sig block update
