I just did Noah's first spreadsheet an I'm worried. He's been on Lantus for 5 weeks and 4 units 2x/day for 6 days. Peaks all over the place (6 to 12 hrs) - I've done a couple of curves before.
BG rarely gets below 200 and is sometimes nearly 600. Today (Jan 8) was a fluke. Started out at 154 before shot and stayed below 200 for, I’m guessing, approximately 3 hrs, but did go steadily up throughout the day.
Just for reference, he tends to have biggest meals with shots and 2-3 smaller meals between. He had lost a lot of weight, so I need him to eat as much as possible - (it is working – he’s added weight.)
How much longer can he stay on 4u doses with BG spikes so extremely high at 500+ and much of the day in the 300 range? This is exhausting.
Also once he gets regulated, how do I know he’s staying regulated if I only do curves once in a while?
