First Fructosamine Test

My cat just started Prozinc on August 1, 2012. You can see her SS that has all the details of the last week. I have an appointment this Saturday August 11th to go back to the vet to have a Fructosamine test done on her. Is this to soon? I want to have it done when it will be the most beneficial.

Thanks for any advice.

A fructosamine test will just give you an average of his numbers over the past two weeks. You already have that information and more on your spreadsheet. Will your vet look at your spreadsheet instead? It would save you money and hassle and upset for the kitty.

Your numbers look okay. He does seem to be coming down a little every day. Two units looked like a lttle too much; 1.75 might be a little too little. You might give it another cycle and then try a skinny 2. (You put 2 units in the syringe and then squirt out just a smidgen so it's less than 2 but more than 1.75.) Or if you can monitor carefully, go up back to 2 and see what his numbers are.
 
Both ideas sound good to me. Not sure if my vet will do that or not but sure worth a call. When we were there last week getting the insulin and learning how to give her the shot I asked about home testing and they said I did not have to do that. Well as you can see I did it anyway.

When they ask you to bring her in for the fruct test, just tell them "That's ok, you don't need to do that":-) Then ask if they'd like you to send them your numbers. The test won't tell you anything you don't already know.
