Thank you for looking! I am excited to finally have a blue number. I took him off of FF classic food, and put him on Wellness canned chicken. I am trying to eliminate anything that could cause fluctations on his readings. Any thoughts on how to get him into the greens would be appreciated. Thanks!!!

Nice!! I would guess that the red number you got this morning is a bounce from that lovely blue....Joey's body has gotten "used to" those high numbers and thinks they are normal, so when a nice low number comes along, the liver "panics" and tosses stuff into the bloodstream, thinking it's protecting the body from going hypo. Over time, the liver and pancreas learn to work together again, and the bounces become less pronounced.

I'm sure you've noticed how we all set up our subject lines...the date, the cat's name, followed by our AMPS/PMPS and subsequent tests. The best way to have more experienced eyes take a look at your spreadsheet and offer advice is to use that format, add the little question mark icon, and also note in the subject like that you have a question.

You're doing a great job!!!

Amy

Thank you Amy that makes a lot of sense about the high numbers! And thank you so much for the reassurance, I definitely need it! Its been a helluva a roller coaster ride so far and its going to take some time and patience, but with support like yours it makes it easier to handle.

I will repost my threads as you said!

Xoxo

We've all been on that rollercoaster so we completely understand where you're coming from...just keep asking questions, everyone here is more than willing to help!

Congratulations Tara! I'm sure it's such a relief to see Joey improving.

As for tips, I'd say patience is the biggest tip I can give. Not the most helpful, I know. As long as you're giving the best care you can give, Joey and his l'il pancreas will tell you when he's ready through his numbers.

This is great news! And already Joey is coming down from his bounce. I hope his progress continues and that you will soon be seeing more and more blues (and maybe even some greens).

Hello! We have not visited you before and wanted to stop and say welcome! Congratulations on the blue! That is a very exciting milestone. It does take a lot of patience. We have all been there and still are at times. Again, welcome! You are doing great!

Congratulations, Tara!!! We all know what it felt like to have that first blue #, and then that first green #. We still get excited on this board, I tell you! :)

Joey's pancreas and liver will settle down. It just takes a lot of time, and a lot of patience. You WILL get there. :) You'll be seeing a lot more of those blue #s in due time. :) Joey will let you know in his own little way. :)

Just keep up the excellent work! You're doing a tremendous job. :)

Tara,

Glad to see you are on this board and that Joey is doing so well. I was wondering where you got to and happy to see you are still here!

Keep up the good work. As for getting them to go to green, well it's really up to Joey. you're doing everything you can to help him get there and in time he will.

Tara --

If you don't mind, can you go back to your other thread (condo) and delete your post? We only open one condo per cat per day. (Lantus is a pretty busy ISG and it's hard to keep up with everyone.)

Also, if you could set up your subject line for this condo just like you did on the other one, people will know what's going on with Joey today (as well as his blue number!).

Great work! Am I reading your spsh correct in that you givenyour cat multiple meals a day? Cedric is also on Wellness, and I have changed over from 2 meals a day to 4 smaller meals a day. I bought a c20-cat mate autofeeder for when I am working (it has a ice pack for the canned food). He no longer eats any dry food.

Thank you all so much for the support and assurance! I can't tell you what a relief it is to have you all on my side! You guys are the best!

Hugs to you and yours!!!
