My cat was diagnosed about a month ago and has neuropathy in his hind legs. He's an 8yr old Maincoon. He was raised on dry food and my headache is incorporating wet food. He eats only about a 1/4 can twice a day regardless of the brand. I've tried, Wellness, Evo, Science Diet, and Natures Valley Instinct. I've been reading about Fancy Feast so that will be next. We have also put some raw chicken into the mix. The dry food is now Evo and he seems to like it. I don't have the heart to take away dry food altogether. My next thought is tuna in water (cans) and see how he does with that. One day he seems to be doing good an the next not so much.

You can try either Fancy Feast or Friskies pates for an affordable option. Adding enough water to make a gravy-type consistency out of the pate was the only way I was able to get my 2 dry food addicts to eat wet food at all - now they love it, though I still have to water it down for them (plus the extra water is good for all cats, but especially for diabetic kitties).

Tuna on its own isn't the very best option, though if it helps you to get him to decide that wet food is worth a try, it's something you could use to begin with. :) As I'm sure you know, cat food has extra nutrients added that the tuna alone won't provide and a purely seafood diet isn't really recommended for cats. But I had to start my 2 on tuna flavor cat food too - and now they love most of the flavors, so for now I'd go with whatever works...I found it was easier to transition from a tuna flavor wet food to other flavors once I'd got my 2 to realize that wet food was good.

It is possible that the Young Again Mature 0 Carb food might be a reasonable interim step. You order it online only.

Thanks for the input. Second feeding of Fancy Feast and it went really well! I've grounded up some of his dry food and sprinkled it on top. In between for "snacks" I've been giving him a tablespoon of raw chicken and he's been liking that too. Have canned tuna and salmon to mix in too just to keep him interested.
