This afternoon, I am flying to see my son in MI. The Bubba Daddy will be taking care of our fur baby. He only test pre-shots so that is the best that Bubba will get for the next 3 days. He won't be doing any increases because of that, only decreases if it is warranted . This morning Bubba went higher than he's been in a while. I did awaken to a big old hairball in the floor, so maybe that explains that. Keep good thoughts for him while I am away.
 
I am going to be gone for four days next week. My brother is taking care of the household and can only be here at 6am & 6pm. I think I am going to decrease my dose by 0.20 for my sliding scale. Merlin will also only be tested at preshot times. I thought about adding 10 points to my sliding scale but since Merlin has been dipping lower lately, I think moving my scale by 0.20 will work better. So, those are other options you can try since there isn't any additional testing. I am still thinking but may still post on the health forum regarding vacation doses to see what others do.

I am originally from Michigan and am planning on going up there in October. My daughter is going to be married in her fiance's hometown of New Buffalo. Where are you going?

Hey Cindi, I am going to Dundee. My son is in Grad school at the University of Toledo. How far away is New Buffalo? He is 20 mins from campus and 25 mins from Ann Arbor. He loves it there!
 
Well, I believe New Buffalo is the first exit coming into Michigan from Chicago (I94). I grew up south of Battle Creek. I have never been to New Buffalo but it is right on Lake Michigan and is considered a little resort town. Congrats to your son. My uncle lives in Ann Arbor or maybe it is Ypsilanti.

That's a good idea because I tested him at 5 after am shot and he dropped from 390 to 170. So if I'm giving 1.4 u what should I take him down too.
 
That 170 is a very safe number for his nadi/low point mid-cycle if that is as low as he is going. I wouldn't change the dose at all while you're away

Don't worry about that spike this a.m. - yep, could be hairball; could be that he knows Mama's headin' out ... & no doubt he'll be fine with Bubba Daddy. Happy travels! Enjoy your visit, Bobbie!:joyful: (So happy to see you're getting a little break, too...)

I love your former state, Cindi! Always a breeze, Lake Erie is pretty although my son said not the prettiest if all the Great Lakes. Ann Arbor is such a funky town. Loved it!
