I have a newly diagnosed diabetic cat (10 year old male). My question is about food. I’m looking for low carb food he will eat. In particular I think I’m looking for the dry matter carbohydrate content percentage. But this confuses me as every site shows a different percentage.

For example, Fancy Feast Chicken Feast Classic

CatInfo.org 3%
BiggerVet.com 4%
MyBeaconVet.com 4.09%
DiabeticCatHelp.com 6.81%
PawDiet.com 22.73%

What is PawDiet showing different than the others?

Thanks, Chris

I think you mean PawDiet.com not PawDiet.org. By looking at this page
https://www.pawdiet.com/reviews/fan...c-tender-beef-and-chicken-feast-wet-cat-food/
it appears that the dry matter values are % weight, not % of calories. Tgis is becare the dry mater % includes fiber which does not have calories.

PawDiet confirmed their data is calculated as percentage weight. That's too bad as its a nice site with lots of food data. Why would they do that? What usefulness is % weight?
