Good evening everyone. I finally finished Jack's SS, so please take a look and let me know what you think. Looking at his numbers like this, I feel like I did him a huge injustice and should have been more proactive about finding a good dose for him. Now that he's on steriods for his triaditis/? lympoma, I feel like I'm back at square one. Any advice is much appreciated.

*Note. For his AMPS I made the mistake of giving 5 units - hastily. I plan on giving 4 units tonight unless someone says I should dose him differently.

Also after his vet appt this afternoon, I let him know that I was trying to feed Jack every 4-6 hours so that he would gain weight. The vet suggested that his AMPS/PMPS might be better if I feed him 2 larger meals 1-2 hours apart around both the AMPS and PMPS. Thoughts?

Thank you all so much!
Jenell

Some folks like to do 2-3 mini meals in the first hal of the shot cycle so that the glucose is coming in as the insulin is taking effect and not coming in as the insulin wears off.

You might feed 1/3 of the meal at each of shot time, +3 and +6, fo example. An automated pet feeder, such as the Pet Safe 5, may be useful if you aren't at home to do this, or want to be able to set it and forget it for the day.

Another option is to freeze some of the food and put down both at feeding time. The frozen can be nibbled as it thaws.
