FF Pate with cheddar

Given the tiny amount of cheese in a can, I think the carb concern is minimal. What I don't understand is "why"? Why do pet food companies feel the need to screw with what works? Why add cheese, or veggies? They are trying to appeal to human taste preferences. Because "Florentine" sounds special on a menu, let's add spinach to cat food! Because you see lots of lions on the Nat Geo channel sitting around munching garden greens at the oasis, right?

Here's the nutrition data on cheddar cheese:

Bob likes them. But it is a concern that the "with cheddar cheese" flavors are replacing the "classics" on the store shelves here. Fewer classic flavors each week for the past few weeks. Hope Purina isn't discontinuing some of them. nailbite_smile

Maybe it's just a "shelf space" issue at the grocery store. Each brand gets "X" feet of space on the shelves, so they must have just not ordered some flavors when they got the "plus cheese" flavors in. Wish they'd ditched some of the grilled and gravy styles and left the classics alone.

yes it is totally shelf space. I work for a pet food company and I know they pay for the square feet they have product on, which is why when things don't sell they get removed. I have some product at one store that is't at another, because of that :)
