FF Appetizers?

I went on my every other day (just seems like it) trip to Petsmart today. I saw something different on the shelves.
It was Fancy Feast Appetizers. It looked like real chunks of meat in the container. Only had a couple of ingredients in it.

What are these?
Are these safe?
What is Sodium Nitrite?

Maybe they have been around awhile? Maybe I just noticed them because I have been visiting Petsmart more these days then any other place. :shock:

They are fine for treats but aren't complete meals they lack some of the vitamins and minerals to use them as a meal.

Sodium Nitrite is in bacon, ham, lunch meat and other foods which some health food advocates say is very unhealthy. It's a preservative and color additive. http://www.naturalnews.com/007024.html

I would not be comfortable feeding a food with Sodium Nitrite in it to cats.

Thank you letting me know. I always read food labels for me & Baxter.
Why couldn't they just add some vitamins, minerals & nothing else? They could have called it Fancy Feast Naturals.
What is wrong with these cat food companies? :roll:

I bought a couple packages to use as occasional snacks. The other ingredients are guar gum and xantham gum. My vet says xantham gum is a sugar. I might just give them to my civilian cat.
