Re: Feral kitten advice. Some progress....

I love hearing your updates. I bet you are having a blast with them and they have come so far thanks to your awesome kindness, great skills and intuition.

Re: Feral kitten advice. Some progress....

Bravo and well done! It must be a really great feeling when you start to earn their trust. I hope you can help them transition into a wonderful furever home (even if it is your own  ).

Just wanted to thank everyone for their advice on socializing feral foster kittens. However, I have completely failed as a foster mum.... I expect some of you guessed that may be the case....
The time came to put the kittens up for adoption, but I became concerned that we'd not be able to find the supportive home that they might need (ie someone who had time to continue socializing them etc) So.... DH and I had a Big Talk and agreed that we'd apply to adopt them ourselves. So, we are now a 5 cat family again.... Will have to start a new thread asking for help integrating kittens with senior kittizens! :?

The kitties and I thank you all for your support and kind words.

Congratulations of being a foster failure. I'm one myself. I saw a T-shirt once that said..."I took you in to do my part and then you stole my heart." That describes my Rusty O'Shea.

No, you did not fail. You helped them to develop into the perfect pets and then discovered that they were perfect for your home. cat_pet_icon cat_pet_icon

(((Eliz and DH and all your furbabies)))

I sort of guessed (and hoped, for the kittens sake) that this would happen. They could not have a better home or a more loving family. Hopefully they will bring out the parenting instincts. Anyone who does not think boy cats have them should see Angel with the Stinky Kittens, and Sam was exactly the same with Angel and Jordan when they were babies. He washes them and watches them and is so patient even when they leap on his tail and chew it. The SK's are doing well, had all their jabs and will be neutered when they're big enough, Shakira is petite.

Would love to meet up again sometime before too long. xx

just seeing this thread for the first time and wow! Congratulations on being a failure! How's it feel to fail?! ;-)

They are adorable - and the only way to tell them apart one has a black nose and the other a pink one... lol oh my congrats you failure you!
