Hello,
My seven year old female cat was recently diagnosed with diabetes. I noticed she was squatting around the house and peeing small amounts. I put her in the bathroom and noticed her urine was slightly pink, had blood in it. I did bring her to the vet and they diagnosed her with diabetes and nothing shown as far as bladder issues. She has started insulin and has been on it for a few weeks now. She is still squatting and urinating around the house. I am just wondering if there is any information that anyone could offer me as to why this is still happening? Is she stressed out causing FIC, or is her diabetes not being regulated well enough yet? She is my baby, I bottle fed her because she was an orphan and I really don't want to lose her this early in her life. Thank you for your help.

Welcome @Deenaholm i am not an experienced advice giver. But i saw no one had replied yet and wanted to at least give you a warm welcome. the people here are warm and generous. I am sure someone will throw down some advice soon!

Welcome if you can tap on the blue link I'll give you , you can give us some information about your kitty
Here is a link helping us to help you link. If you noticed, our members have some basic information about their cat's in their signature. This helps us to not pester you by asking the same questions (your cat's name, insulin type, date of diagnosis, etc.) repeatedly. We also have a link to our spreadsheet in our signature. We are very numbers driven. The spreadsheet is a record of your cat's progress. By linking it in your signature, we can follow along and provide feedback should you need the help

I can ask someone to set up the spreadsheet for you if you want
Are you home testing ?

You will see everyone's signature at the end of their posts in gray
Once you tell us about your kitty I can tag some members to give you some advice

Hi and welcome to the forum.
The blood in the urine is very unlikely to be from the diabetes. If the vet says there is not a UTI (did he do a test or send it away to see if there were any bacteria in it?) than it is likely to be FLUTD. I would google FLUTD as there are things you can do to help kept it at bay.
We would love some more information about your kitty if you would like to give it to us please. Diane has listed them above. Also type of insulin and dose.:)
