Feline Laxatives for hairball

I was feeding my cats their periodic laxatives for the prevention of hairball this morning when I found caramel & syrup in the content of that paste. Didn't feed it to my DM Rosy.
Wonder if there is a laxative for DM cats?

If I have to, I use petroleum jelly for Bandit's hairballs. I just dab some on the back of his paw and he licks it off. But I also groom him weekly using a shedding tool to reduce the amount of hair ingested, and most of the time that takes care of the problem in itself.
