Hi Sara, and, of course, you too, sweet Smokey,

It will be nice to finally get the insulin and get him started. I just hope it won't hurt him too much, not looking forward to sticking him with needles every day because he won't understand it. Feeling a bit nervous to finally get started because I have no idea what is going to happen and how he will react.
It's understandable that you're nervous. Dealing with sharp objects can seem daunting at first... But, you'll get the hang of it, I promise. And, this is coming from a life-long needle-phobic who practiced shooting a hot pad after my first few shaky shots with Giz way back when... Lovely people here suggested practicing shooting oranges, but I kept eating them... And, that old hot pad bore a remarkable resemblance to Gizzie's scruff when tented... Took a couple of weeks of shooting that hot pad twice daily before I noticed a calm, smooth, and quick approach shooting Giz... (Of course, the hot pad was on honeymoon by then...)

Have plenty of high protein treats for your cat and it won't be as bad for Smokey. Get some treats for you too.
Underdawg is right about treats for Smokey. Underdawg is also right about treats for you!
Love and encouraging, it will be okay, kind of hugs for you and your sweet Smokey,
Deb and Nikki -- and, Giz, forever dancing in my heart...
