Right now I have my cats on a regular schedule. They get fed twice a day in the morning before work and in the evening after. I am wondering though if I should start feeding three times a day? I am very lucky. I work 2 miles from my house. If it wasn't two very large scary roads I would bike to work lol I could start a third feeding and come home during lunch. There are a few days a month where I have meetings and can not get away from the office. But most days it wouldn't be an issue. Do you think 3 times a day is better?

it really depends on what your cats need and are used to. grazers, meal eaters, etc - it is not always necessary to feed more than 3 meals, it really is up to you

if you want to add an additional meal/snack you can always freeze canned food with some water added and when you leave in the morning, serve breakfast and put out the frozen food - it will take several hours to thaw and be ready for eating.

That's what I do - I freeze a half can of Friskies every evening (give my two the rest as a snack) and then I serve it frozen along with their breakfast before I leave for work. It makes me feel more comfortable knowing there's food available if my diabetic starts going low and feels like she needs to eat midday, which is about when it thaws.

I have to supervise their eating though. I have 4 kitties. And I have a very overweight girl who I am trying to get her weight down. She will eat EVERYONES leftovers. So I have to be careful with the feedings

Budget permitting, the PetMate 5 compartment feeder might be helpful, possibly more than 1 since you have a cat that'll go for the others food.

This could dole some of the food out in mini meals.
