Hello everyone, I’ve noticed that many of you feed your cats and test throughout the day. What do those of you who work outside the home do? I’m an essential worker, my job can’t be done from home. I work 5 sometimes 6 days a week. I’m also a single mom, no partner to assist with caring for my pets. I test, feed, shoot in the morning before I leave and again when I get home. I still have a child at home to care for too, however he is a teen and has some special needs. I do leave some dry Dr. Elsey’s out at all times for the kitties to nibble on. Just wondering if anyone else has the same dilemma.

Morning Julia, While I dont have children and DO have a hubby , we BOTH worked very demanding jobs. Many a week I spent working 12-16 hour days. We tested when we could. Despite that Trouble was still able to go OTJ . Maybe he would have anyway if we both were 9-5'ers? I dunno. But it is possible. I use to just dump a can of food and left it for them both (civvie included) and hoped for the best. o_O:blackeye:

:cool::cool:Hi!

I believe that many people here use auto feeders to give amounts through the day and night. Little ice packs can keep wet food cool through the day. I’ve heard of freezing portions in ice cube trays to put in the auto feeder, but I’ve never tried it.

I am not sure when your am shot is, but grabbing a +1, +2 or +3 before leaving for work (If you can. I see you did on 9/28 :)) can let you know if you might need to leave out extra food or a higher carb food out to keep kitty safe. Looks like you are seeing some nice green numbers already!

I work shift work, but my hubby is at home and that helps. With Elie, who went into diabetic remission years ago, we both worked out of the house and grabbing the +2 and then leaving extra food out was what we did then. It was a relief when he went OTJ
