Feeding amount?

Random question but I guess not so random.
What amount are you guys feeding your cats?
Cuz I've been struggling to find accurate amounts I definitely overfed him most of his life but for the last 5 ish years he's been on half a cup of dry food a day.
Now that he's on wet food he's getting 1 and a half 85g cans twice a day...
I'm seeing alot of y'all are feeding more than that?

I personally do not go by grams, but by carbs of the food or weight, I feed 4 melas a day I use Fancy Feast Pates feed 1/2 can per meal that's 4 plus one ham 1% carb snack 2 hours after AMPS, the other half his sister Coco eats it, and their weight has been the same for 3 years! Perfect

I feed fancy feast pate's to my diabetic boy & my other boy. I split 1 can between the 2 of them 4xs a day & they get a snack which is half of a half can split between the 2 of them at +3 -+4 AMPS.

Every cat is different :)

1 and a half cans twice a day doesn't seem much for a diabetic cat. Some people feed up to 4 small cans or more, the food split into small meals spread throughout the day. You just have to figure out what works best for your cat :)

Leroy mainly eats a commercial freeze dried raw food. He gets one rehdyrated patty in the morning, 3 canned food snacks for the day, another patty for dinner, and two snacks of freeze dried raw (roughly half a patty total), and canned food snack for late night munchies.

Carbs are obviously incredibly important for a diabetic cat, but calorie content is too. The same way every cat is different, every food is different.

For example, my guy normally has ~8 oz/almost 3 cans of his normal food per day. Recently he's only been wanting to eat a different one, which happens to only be half the number of calories. Unfortunately that's meant giving him much more volume to make up for it. If you scroll down a little in the Transitioning section of this page it gives a general idea of how many calories cats should be getting based on their weight (and whether you want to gain, lose, maintain, etc). It's not an exact thing, but it gives you a ballpark. My kitty, Xander, weighs between 11-12 lb and I aim for 250 calories/day, but realistically it varies by the day.

My cat is so weird he's been on kibble his entire life and since being on wet food he's been rly picky. I'm feeding him the fancy feast pate and they have like 6 flavors and I think he only likes 4 of them and he's also developed this weird habit of constantly trying to hurry his entire plate multiple times while eating x.x and idk why...

He seems hungry all the time but he's 16 pounds and I'm basically feeding him 3 cans of food a day.

3 cans of one food could be way too few calories for him and 3 cans of a different one could be more than enough. It depends on the specific food.

Diabetic cats are also going to be extra hungry until they're regulated.

She seems fine for the most part he eats at 7:30 every morning and then doesn't really start to bother me until around 5pm and I always feel horrible and he usually doesn't even eat all his dinner immediately takes like an hour or 2 to eat it cuz he's always been a grazer

There are many other brands of food you can feed besides FF :) FF is often suggested because it's a well known brand everyone knows. It's good to have a few different brands in rotation to avoid pickiness and in case there's a recall or some formulation change the cat now finds yucky.
