Well, i am for sure back. Feeburt is Diabetic. his glucose was at 410 and he has a slight bladder infection. I am picking up starter bag in a little bit. We will be using Lantus which is new to me so even though I have been down this road before I will probably have some questions for the lantus users.
Thanks for your support.
Can any one direct me to the u100 conversion chart

Welcome back, although that's not good news ;-) Why do you need a conversion chart? If you are using Lantus it is a U100 insulin and you need to use U100 syringes, no conversion needed. If your dose is 1U then you measure 1U in the proper syringe. What you do need is to be sure and get syringes with 1/2 unit markings. They are 3/10 cc U100 syringes with 1/2 unit markings. On the Lantus ISG you find lots of info in the stickys at the top of the forum including pictures of how to use the cartridges or pens and close ups of the syringes and doses. Good luck and hope to see you posting in the Lantus Land!

maybe you will be lucky and the infection is what raised his BG
lantus is a piece of cake. read star stickies in lantus
just remember lantus is dosed according to nadir and not PS. never shoot air into cartridge or push insulin back into when measuring. this insulin reacts somehow to the plastic of syringes and can contaminate the whole cart. by the solstar pens. more economical

Thanks Karen,
No worries. I was using u100 syringes and converting for u40 insulin. So far so good. Didn't even have to poke him twice to get blood. Old hat...new cat.
