Well she is not regulated yet so she is up and down a lot, but she has been having the runs for about 3 days although last night she did a normal poo (sorry for all the details lol) and then just now we found a very dark looking spot of diarrhoea with one bit of poo that has a shape and the rest liquid.

Is this normal at this stage of her diabetes or should i be taking her to the vet

I don't know if it's "normal", but you do want to make sure she's not dehydrated. Can you pull up the skin at the base of her neck and does it bounce right back or does it stay up for a second?
FortiFlora is good for diarreha (sp?) and most cats LOVE it.

I'm not sure we have that here in the UK unfortunately we have probiotic buts not much else. She isn't dehydrated as i have done the skin check but maybe she has a basic infection and her glucose readings are quite low at the moment

If you have recently changed the diet, it may be that it was a fast change and her body is having trouble adjusting. You might pick one flavor and give just that for awhile and if you can get a probiotic, that can really help.

Is she eating? 3 days without enough food may lead to hepatic lipidosis, where fat breakdown overwhelms the liver. It can kill. If this is the case, get to the vet ASAP.

In lieu of a probiotic, a teaspoon of yogurt with ACTIVE cultures may be helpful with each meal.

Also, tenting the skin doesn't always clue you in to less severe dehydration. Lift up the lip, press your finger firmly on the gum and remove it. How fast does the color come back? If it seems slow, the cat is dehydrated. Giving subcutaneous fluids is easy to learn and can be helpful in managing your cat's diabetes.

Wwll she is definitely eating all the time, we got a semi normal poo today so I'm hoping its just different food flavours or something. i was worried the probiotic might not be good for her with the diabetes

I know the Fortiflora is okay because it is highly recommended by Dr. Lisa Pierson and used by many people here. I think you can get it on the internet if you can't find it in the UK - maybe you could order it?

The dark spot - was it sort of coffe grounds colored or black? If yes, please take a specimen into the vet and have it tested for blood. All sorts of things can cause upper GI bleeding which turns dark by the time it is excreted - including food changes, foreign objects, parasites, IBD, and cancer.

thank you for all the advice luckily it has stopped but it seems like i have paranoia with the diabetes and everything but she did get a 163.8 reading today so thats a lot better
