if they say drop off the cat between 8 & 9 am and no food after 10 the night before, how much leeway is there in that??? any? 1/2 hour?

My vet always says no food after midnight and no water after 7 AM the morning of the procedure.

Thee is a lot of leeway per my vet. She has never had a cat vomit associated with anesthesia. For diabetic cat dentals, she even says feed half normal food morning of the dental. Dogs are a different story.

Ditto. When I take my cats in for dentals, I usually just shoot for a ~8 hour fast - for the anesthesia issue.

That said, ideally, I try to hold out for a 12 hour fast only because the blood panel will be more accurate.

Another opinion.......My friend who does my dentals does not worry if they only have a ~6 hour fast.
