Hello folks,
It's been a while since I have been active on this board but I just wanted to let you all know that Huey passed away unexpectedly a few weeks ago, and to thank everyone for all the help and support you've all given us. I've never been a very prolific poster but knowing that there were so many of you who were going through the same trials and so generously sharing your knowledge and wisdom and love really helped me through the past year since Huey's diagnosis.
Sadly, he had other health issues, possibly neurological, that started cropping up over the holidays that pushed the diabetes into the background and that I think contributed to the accident that killed him. I am still grieving and adjusting and still so sad that I wasn't with him when he passed but chugging along and very grateful for the support of my family and friends. By the books Huey was about 11 but the vets here thought he was probably older than that, and he was with me for six and a half years. He was the sweetest cat, always up for exploring (yes, I was That Girl With The Cat On The Leash) and finding new laps to snuggle on, and I miss him so much.
I don't think I've ever posted a photo but here is one I particularly like of him enjoying a snack (pre-diabetes of course!).
Thank you all so very much,
Nancy
