Heathen!!
One of my favorite terms. :-D
Looks like I am going to have to skip a shot tonight.

Kitty may be much higher if you wait 12 hours. Something my vet had me do when I was taking Spitzer in for a dental and he had to fast was give a half dose so he wouldn't bounce really high. Something to consider for tonight.

With the values in the 40s, I think Kitty has earned a small dose reduction when you next do a regular shot.

He is now at +13 105.
I'm now off an hour from the feeding cycle as well if I do a shoot.

You didn't shoot, right? (I hope). So it is +13 - 13 hours after the last shot. Not +1. Could be important when people look at the ss to give you advice. You can put +13 below or in the box next to the number or in the remarks.

How about a .25 or .5 shot to slow the bounce down?

If that is done I have to worry about over lap in the morning.

please dont shoot - take a look at Bean sheet with .25 & .50. Better a little high than way to low nailbite_smile

I decided to skip it. He is still in the 100 range. Perhaps he wont go out of the 300's by morning.

thought that might happen, hang in there..
furry hugs to ya

I was hoping for high 300's or at least a drop from the 400's to the 300's after the shot.
Ah well. Perhaps he will start dropping by +2.

+5.5 is 91. The rate of decrease is slowing according to this number.

Looks like I am going to miss most of the day at the job site. I was only planning on a few hours today anyway. Its Friday.

Im not really familiar with your type of insulin but looking at your spreadsheet from the last two days tells me that the dose is to high, and it seems that what happened yesterday, kitty going very low is about to happen again today.Going from 40 to above 500 in less than 24 hours can not be fun for Kitty. So maybe it is time to cut back a little bit on the dose. I might be wrong, but it just seems to high in my opinion.

Not sure. He is all over the chart if I go high or go low. I would have liked to have given him a .5 or .25 shot last night to rein in a bounce.
The vet is insisting on 2 units.
I may change my next appointment with him to later in the day just to shut him up and let him see Kitty's low number for himself.

remember.........IT IS YOUR CAT, NOT THEIRS!
I hope with your data they will work with you, if not, perhaps finding one that will is not out of the question. When I told the girls in the vet office that I was home testing and ask a few questions brought up on here while I was waiting for the appointment, their response was...dont search the internet and dont believe everything you read....we no longer go to that vet. just sayin

He is working with me thus far. The issue is that I go in the morning when an hour to and hour and half after giving him a shot and feeding. If I go in near 12PM the data the vet would have would be different.
