I just opened a can of Fancy Feast with the new label, "Chicken Feast CLASSIC" and
it has what looks like white powder on top. I've never seen anything like this.

Is that the dark pink labeled can? I opened two of those today and did not see any white stuff. I would not feed that. Do you have another one to open and see if it has the same white stuff?

if it's what I think it is, it's bone pieces...I saw this come up in the old board, can u described it a bit more?

Is the expiry date ok on the can? if in doubt, don't use it and try another, give Purina a call.

It is the dark pink label----that new label. The experation date is 2011.
The white stuff looks just like powder.
I don't have another can to open and compare. I won't feed it to Fluffy and i will call
purina tomorrow and see what they say.
Does bone pieces look powdery?

thanks

not really, they look like....little tiny shards (spellcheck) chards...lol
ugh, whats that word I cant spell?

powdery? eww, dry powdery? dont feed it, I wouldn't. put the can in a ziplock type baggie and in the fridge for the call.

I've had this same thing with the classic chicken feast flavor as well with the current case of it. No clue what it is. It was in 6 or so cans.

Re: Fancy Feast. What's the white stuff?/ update

I talked with Purina.
After doing a little research he said the only thing he could come up with was it might be
a little mold; that sometimes there could be such a tiny space in the can that is not
sealed that you wouldn't be able to see it.

The can had no dents and i got a good pop when i opened it.

If i find this again i will take a picture and send them. It may help to mail the can of
food back to them.

They are sending coupens for six cans of ff to me.

For what it's worth.. I feed Premium.. Wellness & the same white specs are there..... smells good, looks good.. I don't stress.
