Our cat Tigger just had an episode of DKA. He's recovering well, and is back to his normal self, and its only been a week. Yay! With a change in insulin from Vetsulin to Lantus, his numbers seem to be improving too. Now on to his food. He's been fed FF Classic exclusively since becoming diabetic. One of the vets who treated his DKA suggested he be fed ONLY the FF Ocean whitefish and tuna. He loves it...and I know its lower in carbs that the other FF Classic varieties, but I've also read articles saying that a diet exclusively fish isn't the greatest? But then most of the articles are talking about "human" canned tuna, etc.
What about Tiki foods? Aren't they mostly fish? Better than FF? This vet is trusted..and she said she feeds her own cat FF fish exclusively.
So confusing!
