Fancy feast amount

I am reading the information section of the forum that the "classic pate" fancy feast foods are a good option for a diabetic cat. I am not sure how much I would feed him and am trying to see what the most cost-effective food would be for him. he is 12.7 lbs and I am not sure how to tell how much to feed him.

The FF pate cans are around 80-100 calories a can, depending on the variety. A good feline rule of thumb is 20 calories per pound, per day, to maintain a healthy weight.

Do you know what Brioche's ideal weight is? Your vet can give you this assessment if you don't have it. If his ideal weight is 12 pounds, for example, then you would want to feed about 240 calories a day.
