We caught an elevated am reading on Frodo two days ago, on one of our random spot-checks. First fear was that he'd relapsed, but after 3 days of checking more often, we seem to have a pattern. Morning readings were 149, 135, 135. Evening he seems to drop: down to 71 and 65 at pm former shot times.
So what might be going on here? Pretty high am readings for any sort of "morning rise". But he does drop down later in the day. I don't think he's getting further organ damage as long as he's under 150 or so.
He has been eating quite poorly some days, so we've been keeping him on a small dose of cyproheptadine (appetite stimulant). Not sure how much difference that is making: he still doesn't want to eat some days even with it, and on some days I've tried to skip the cypro and he's eaten anyway.
We're taking him to the vet tomorrow to see if anyone has any ideas about what's going on. But I suspect what we'll hear from the vet that he's just fine for BG at those levels . As far as I'm concerned, he was getting better numbers after going OTJ, so why the change now? I suspect there may be something else going on. His kidneys aren't the best, but last tested not bad for his age.
His BG readings since going OTJ are included on his spreadsheet.

My Goof is doing the same thing right now. My vet suggested to not do anything for a couple of weeks unless he gets close to 200, then I'm to call him for advice. A recent full bloom work up, didn't show any signifigantly changes, kidney function slipped a tiny bit.
