Extremely frustrated, insulin shipping

Hi all!
This is a partial venting post, and a partial inquiry post.
I've been getting Nico's insulin from Chewy for quite a while now, without any issues. They have the best price on ProZinc I've found near me. So he's on auto ship, which was Friday the 25th. Ok, FedEx had it out for delivery on Saturday the 26th. Never attempted delivery, so back out for delivery today Sunday the 27th. Again never attempted delivery.
I'm extremely frustrated at this point, because I have no clue if they will successfully deliver tomorrow the 28th, and if it will be a waste of $100 vial of insulin since it's been in transit for 4 freaking days. Has anyone experienced this with delayed delivery of insulin?? I wasn't sure even if it's packed correctly how long it would be viable, or if I should just call Chewy tomorrow and tell them they need to send another one. :banghead::arghh:

I’ve not had Insulin shipped from Chewy, but have had major delays lately getting my syringes/food/other items like probiotics. More delays than usual for them.

I'd call Chewy. They're usually very good about things like this and I'll bet they offer to send you a new bottle.
Thanks Chris! Yeah, I did end up having to call Chewy. I dislike being a complainer, lol, but their customer service is so wonderful - they sent out another bottle today. Unfortunately when I finally did get it yesterday, the ice packs were completely thawed and the bottle of insulin was warm. I didn't want to take any chances.
I don't know what is going on with FedEx lately, but Chewy said they would try to rush this one out to me. Luckily I order a week in advance, so I have a little bit of leeway!

You can also use the tracking number to complain to FedEx. (Chewy customer service is great, but with my last delayed package, which contained a much-needed leg brace for my dog (which is why I called instead of just waiting) they insisted that Fedex does not work on Sundays. Ummm....wrong....)
That package was out for delivery but suddenly 'returned due to inability to deliver: business closed' and then stuck waiting all weekend until delivered the next week. Ummm, no, I am a private house on a tiny, quiet, cul-de-sac (they tried to tell me the driver was not allowed to leave a package in a public place where it could easily be seen and stolen, sorry nope not here! Plus, I was home all day and my office looks out across the front lawn and the street, he was never here). The same day, someone elsewhere in my neighborhood was told his package was undeliverable as the gates to our gated community were not accessible....ummm, nope, there are no gates and these are public roads running through. Just a bad driver who wanted to finish his route early and so marked all his last packages undeliverable in order to get off work earlier. We both complained to FedEx and no one in the neighborhood (there's an HOA of about a thousand houses) has had this kind of lazy delay since. Don't know whether he got chewed out, switched to another route, or fired, but our service improved greatly with a few well-justified complaints.

Many years ago I broke a full vial of ProZinc when it fell onto my tile floor. Since then, as soon as I open a new vial of ProZinc, I place an order with Chewy so I will always have one on hand. Gives me peace of mind as does using the green protector case on each vial to protect it from my klutziness.

Never have anything that you absolutely need to arrive by a certain time shipped by FedEx. UPS is the only shipper I can100% count in to get stuff without delays.

Company I work for just canceled our FedEx contract due to the endless excuses, lost packages, etc. we had to ship an order to a customer three times before they finally got it.

I have those wonderful green protectors too!! I do typically have a back up bottle so I don't get stuck in a situation where I'm without insulin. I just think it's crazy that companies pay all this money to a shipping carrier for overnight or next day air delivery, and the box literally says "medication - keep refrigerated" but yeah let's toss it on the truck three days in a row and not deliver it. I truly wish I could pick who ships it, I'd go with UPS every time. We have a saying in our house when FedEx delivers our Chewy orders ... It's the "Chewy Chuck" - they just chuck it onto the porch like nothing in there will break or be effected.

That's sad Denver...

Thanks Gracie! Yeah I had a similar situation, three out of four FedEx deliveries were made - the fourth said "could not deliver, business closed or person not home." What a joke!!
I did call FedEx as well, unfortunately the person I spoke with was not as helpful. Just excuses for why it wasn't delivered and I needed to wait. Such a shame.
