Experiences with Tramadol?

Smokey just had a dental yesterday and we've had a drop in numbers today. I am wondering what other people have experienced with the use of Tramadol in their cats? Any effects on their BGs or not really?

Her numbers drop could be a residual from the anesthesia yesterday combined with not eating enough because she was tired. But if the pain med is a likely cause (just started today a few hours before the drop), I'd like to drop her dose down while we continue to give it to her.
 
Thanks Larry. Her dose is slightly lower at 10mg since its compounded. Unless she climbs a lot in the next hour, we will most likely skip tonite's insulin and just do the tramadol. We will be able see any effects without as much worry of a hypo.

The vet gave us tramadol to use on my Chandler Bing, they said he had arthritis in his lower spine. Gave him a quarter of one, and he was hungover the entire next day. Sluggish, etc etc. It made him even less interested in food than he already is (and that's saying something, lol).
 
My experience is my cat went ballastic on it. Meaning, she wouldn't stop pacing, moving, couldn't sit still and was totally restless. This was after one small dose.

So, be careful of the side effects.

You may want to go with something less drastic such as buprenex.
