Has anyone here treated their diabetic kitties with cosequin? Notice any effects on BG?

Meat seems like she has more joint stiffness than usual, which may be neuropathy but she is almost 16 so seems like it couldn't hurt to start on it.

@Vasalisa
My Tyler has has been in remission since 1-24-21 and I started him on cosequin on Dec 31st 2022 and it has not raised his BG at all , Most pet stores have it , you can take a look at his SS, I have seen a big improvement in him :cat:
He's been in remission for 3 years already
I got this one I started him on it on Dec 31 2022

Right now I will give him 1 capsule once a week
It's tasteless , he doesn't even notice it in his wet food, I always add water to his wet food ,open up the capsule and put it on the food and just mix it around real good

Why is it great for pets? Here are five reasons.

  1. It is great for osteoarthritis since it reduces inflammation of the joints.
  2. It is also beneficial for treating some digestive disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome and other forms of gastric irritation.
  3. It can be used to help with many skin issues.
  4. It does not negatively affect your pet's digestive tract, unlike many other forms of anti-inflammation drugs.
  5. It also does not negatively affect the heart rate or blood pressure and is a safe form of Ayurvedic herbal therapy.
People also ask

Is Boswellia safe for cats?
Boswellia is one of the many amazing Ayurvedic herbs our clinic likes to use for dogs and cats!

That's great news!! Tyler IS looking great! Gosh, look at those remission numbers

I bought a small bottle of almost the same product a few days ago but I chose one that doesn't have the boswellia (i too did not know what it was, thanks for the new info!). When I get another bottle I may get the maximum strength + boswellia kind that you have, it does look better and if it actually addresses any single one of the issues it says it does it is definitely for us!! After looking it up originally I got a little spooked by the glucose factor since I know so little about this generally. I feel better about that now, thank you!!

You're very welcome :cat:

What's the dosage on this? I have a bottle and Kahlua is bunny hopping upstairs. I suspect she's got arthritis in her back legs.

My bottle says each pill contains:
125 mg glucosamine hydrochloride
100 mg sodium chondroitin sulfate
1 mg manganese

And the dose is 1 capsule daily for cats under 10 pounds, and 2 capsule daily for any cat over 10 pounds. (Edit: for 4 to 6 weeks, then once every other day)
That seems so inexact to me!! I'd like to see what others have to say about dosing too

I was using Dasuquin treats for Gravy. It helped her but I think the treats did affect bg a little since it has starch. She got a Solensia shot about a week ago and I do see improvement already. The Dasuquin has the Boswellia but I didn't realize Cosequin had version with it.
My husband is using the human version of Dasuquin (Cosamin asu) and noticed a big difference in his knees.

I tried Cosequin for my civvie before. She did not like the taste of the sprinkle capsules. Cosequin is supposed to be flavorless or at least have a bland taste but my civvie wouldn't touch any food that had Cosequin mixed into it. Adding FortiFlora to it didn't help. Just something to be aware of :cat:

Thank goodness she doesnt seem to notice it so far (its only been one meal!), but she does like to eat things once or twice and then refuse forever after, so who knows. Hopefully she will continue to be oblivious!
OH and huge thank you for your previous suggestion of Fortiflora! Meat loves it! She is eating her FF wet so much better now and I can skip dry meals and she will still eat the wet.

That is huge!!
