My cat has been off all dry food (I have 3 other cats I had to stop too) for almost 3 weeks. His BG is normal, he's off insulin and he is not use to not having dry food and looks for it all the time. All 4 of them are hungry all day. They get fed 4-5 times per day (canned) but it doesn't seem to be enough.

So, I am thinking of giving them EVO dry food because of the low carb content.

I know I am suppose to keep him under 10% carbs per day and being new to all this, it boggles the mind.

Before he was diagnose diabetic, dry was always available 24/7 and they would eat canned twice per day. I'd like to go back to this schedule.

How much Evo per day is a safe amount? I've been reading this link about cat foods. It says that Evo is 12.9% carbs...but per what? Per cup, per ounce, per bag? http://catfooddb.com/product/evo/Turkey & Chicken Formula Cat & Kitten Food

Any advice on this would be appreciated. I just don't get it.

I'm not sure about Evo but I use Young Again Zero dry food that sits out all the time in addition to the wet pate I feed. My sugar baby went into remission and is doing well.

I just googled it. Sounds like an amazing dry food.

Do you buy on the Young Again website? Wow, it's expensive on their website. Evo, isn't much cheaper. I'm going to go broke feeding 4 cats the best food because of his diabetes. Ugh.

Glad to hear your cat is remission. Wonderful.

Young Again (YA) can only be purchased from their website or by phone. They will send you a sample to try.
