Hi everyone,

I have a question about EVO 95% Chicken and Turkey canned food. On Tanya's CRF website, she lists the phosphorous content as 0.88% :

http://www.felinecrf.org/canned_food_usa.htm

But I see on a recent thread here, Natura Evo Chicken and Turkey is listed with a phosphorous content of 262:

My understanding is that phosphorous content of 250 mg/100 kcal is equal to approximately 1% phosphorous. Does anyone know if the nutritional analysis of this food has changed?

Or perhaps a value of 262 is referring to this food:

And not the 95% variety? :

Thanks and warm greetings to everyone and their kitties!

If you read through that thread, you'll see that the original poster got some of her phosphorus values from Binky's list, where the phosphorus levels are out of date. This is a recent (and still accurate) list with EVO:

Tanya's list is also kept current so go by those numbers when in doubt.

However, there are two EVO chicken and turkey flavors--Regular, and th 95%. The Regular EVO Chicken and Turkey has a value of 1.31 on Tanya's list (262), and EVO 95% Chicken and Turkey has a value of .88 (155).

Personally, I much preferred the Merricks low phosphorus foods (both the 5 star entrees and Before Grain flavors) with my CKD cat because they are lower in fat and my cats like the taste a lot more than the EVO. But if your cat handles the high fat content ok and likes the taste, EVO 95% chicken and turkey is fine to feed a CKD cat.
