please give me advice asap ( waiting for help to know if I can leave in a hour or not. I need to know if anyone has giving their cat anything to help them stay calm in the car. I know stress can make their BG level go up. I was told that giving skittles Dramamine will help keep him calm but most of you the bad advice the staff at my vet office has given me before.
They said to give him 12.5 mg every 8 hours. Skittles hates being in the car.

I can't leave him here alone for any amount of time because his can food gets dry and he will not eat it. I can't put down dry food . I guess you can say that IM FREAKIMG OUT. I don't want to mess up his remission . I have no one that can take him and I was supposed to leave this AM.

I have no idea what to do when I start working. I do not want to rehome my furbaby.

You might test using half of the dose.
- If it is a tablet, do you have a tablet cutter?
- If it is a capsule, I will thoroughly mix a capsule into a bit of food, then divide it up so I can give only half.

Some folks have used Feliway/Comfort Zone spray or collars. You spray a blanket for the carrier and let it air out a few minutes, then put it in and load up.

If he'll play, do some really active play for a good 15-20 minutes before you leave, to help tire him out.

Sadly I can't go get the feliway. I'm just so iffy about using the Dramamine on him. It will be almost a 2 hour drive

Thank y'all for the food advice.
If I go out of town for days to a week I have to take him. But have to keep him calm so his BG won't shoot up.
I love him so so much, I just don't know what to do. I had to turn down place after place to live in because they wouldn't allows pets. Now they are upping my rent and I don't know how I can handle it , plus my children and everything else.
I'm just very emotional right now
