Buddy wasn't put on insulin yet because his BG numbers aren't high enough at this point to warrant it. :-D Excited but at the same time a little anxious because it looks like his numbers are starting to climb.

I'm attempting to do a +0, +2 and +4 reading tonight so I can get a glimpse at how his pancreas is functioning. He's hardly touched his dinner and what I'm wondering is if he'll have enough in him to register a truly reflective +2 read. (We're talking maybe a minute of leisurely eating tops.) Is there some threshold that you guys use to determine when your cats have eaten enough to make for good testing?

The original vet who diagnosed my cat with diabetes said that they should eat a full tablespoon of cat food before considering administering insulin. I generally go by my cats pre-food glucose number before shooting. Jan
