Good morning!
I'm late posting as there's nothing really all that new. AMPS was 355, I gave 1 unit (decided against 1.2), I'm glad I didn't give more because his +4 right now is 280, is that too steep of a drop? I ran out of the Beef and Chicken Fancy Feast Classic so I started the case of FF Chicken Classic. He woke me up at 3:30 as usual and I did get up to check a glucose, it was 327 and I refused to dish out any more food, there was some residue in the dish so I went back to bed. Woke up around the usual time shortly after 5:00 PM and the residue was gone and the glucose was up just to 355, not too much of an increase. Again, he seems to eat very avidly in the morning, and also he is definitely more perky, alert, and even started to play again (which he hasn't done too much in weeks), but now he is peacefully sleeping. Maybe we'll go from yellow to blue today. Evening doses are hard to figure out because I just can't stay awake through the night to monitor (I have a heavy sleep and I'm already exhausted from all these 3 AM waking up episodes). I think I'll stick for now with 1.0 units bid and see how he does on the chicken only flavor. And I'll brace myself for March Madness...

It is a drop but looks like it should be fine. It is great to get the whole cat report - sounds like he is feeling better and that is a big part of this whole puzzle.

+6 reading down to 174, so I was right, we made it to the blues! The question is, how much more will he drop?

I have to work in the afternoon, should I make him eat before I go? He is sleeping without a care in the world and I'm concerned that if I make him eat, it will make the glucose spike. On the other hand, I'm guessing that he might drop to around 80-90, which I THINK it's OK, but I'll defer to your suggestions. I wonder if the chicken flavor is better, in terms of lower carbs, than the beef and chicken?

Depends on your comfort level. If you won't be around but think he won't drop too low, maybe leave out a snack? Some cats have trouble with beef - not carbs so much but allergies, stomach upsets.

Nice +6. :-D

+7 is 175, whoo, whee, we are cruising at a great plateau!

I'll leave some food out and will be back around 5:30 PM, it's possible I might be able to come in mid afternoon to check but can't guarantee it.

Got home earlier than expected, got a +11 reading of 384, which seems to me much better than his recent PMPS readings. He is eating right now so I'm not seeing the point of repeating a reading in 1 hour since I don't expect him to drop and I don't expect to go up on the dose even if it was over 500 as I could attribute it to eating. Maybe this is wishful thinking, but I still see some general downward trend, although very slow, or maybe it's that denial thing working tricks in my mind...

It's a beautiful afternoon so maybe we'll go to the yard for a little while so he can get some needed exercise, I'll enjoy the weather until it starts getting into the 90s which here in FL will happen sooner than I would like

Hmmm...
+4 reading was 433, but rechecked it was 354, which one do I believe? Can drop size make that much difference? the first sample was barely enough, the second sample was more generous. Of course I'm inclined to side with the better number, but I really don't know, it makes sense that it will be 354 as it's lower than the PMPS-1 hr reading earlier today...

I've gotten a few of those. Made me question the last 154 I got! Now if there's any sizable variation, I run another test. Sometimes they're close, others not. Which to believe? I guess you're in the drivers seat, so whatever seems logical curve-wise.

Either way, a very good day for Euk!
