Hi everyone
I would like to ask if I should be concerned about Errol's rise in BG this AM.
I am fully aware that his number is still perfectly normal and acceptable, BUT it is a big variance from his usual numbers.
I took it 3 1/4 hours after he ate, I usually take it 2 1/2hrs after he eats.
He seems fine, but I'm concerned that his BG has been slowly rising over the last 3 weeks, and he hasn't had it so high for 2 1/2 months now.
Thanks for any comments!

update :

Took AMBG 2.5hrs after eating & it is 3.5 so am happy to see it has gone down a little since yesterday AM.

Re: Errol AMBG 4 (72) OTJ 24.12.13

I don't see anything to be concerned about.

He'd seen similar numbers during his OTJ trial, and if you add in the meter variance of 20%, all his AMBG numbers are pretty close to the same number.

It looks like you might have been changing his food lately? I see you were on raw and now are back on canned. Have you made any other changes?

Our kitties BG can change from all kinds of things...a dog barking outside the door, a squirrel teasing them through the window, running the vacuum cleaner, or just because they're cats.

Just keep your eye on him, test like you've been, and enjoy your time at the Falls!

Hi Michele:

I think Errol's numbers still look good. If you are really concerned, maybe you should try getting a few random tests throughout the day, just to see what he's doing. As Chris said, lots of things affect the numbers, and you might have just caught him when something had him a little aggitated.

Nice to see you and Errol again. :-D

i agree that it's nothing to worry about yet. these are still normal numbers, but it's good you're being vigilant.

glad to see you!

Hi Chris, Tricia and Julie
Thanks so much, I will take another this AM, just fed him now at 06h00 so will again at 08h00 and if it's not back to ''normal'' will run a few throughout the day.

Yesterday when I took his BG he was extremely calm, sat there quietly purring and didn't even notice and before that he had been outside for half an hour, so yes, perhaps it was something he did outside :) I can only hope. Every Monday when I test and it's low is a blessing which I never take for granted.

Chris, I couldn't source unfrozen ingredients apart from freerange chicken & lamb liver, which caused me to hang back with the making of the raw food. I am worried about defrosting, mincing and then refreezing. If he absolutely needs raw all the time then I will have to sort something out, not sure where from but we'll make a plan.

Thanks again guys and love to you all and your kitties.
