I understand the Relion meters are a house-branded version of the Arkray meters.

Please tell me which Relion meter is which Arkray meter.

Arkray has the Expression, Vital, 01, and 01 mini. http://www.glucocardusa.com/products.html

Relion has the Micro, Confirm, Ultima, and Prime. http://www.relion.com/diabetes/blood-glucose-testing

I'm not looking for "experts," but please only answer if you are certain, even if it is only for one or two of the meters. Thanks.

Glucocard 01 is ReliOn Confirm.

The Ultima appears to be the Vital.

If you have example photos of the ReliOns, sometimes you can match them up to the Arkray Products. Its how I figured out the preceeding.

Venita,
If I remember correctly, the Vital is the same meter as the Relion Ultima.

I'd never heard of the Expression, and assumed it was the same as the Prime, but when I took a look, I don't believe that's the case. The Expression apparently is a "talking" meter, and I don't think Relions talk to you.

To further complicate things, arkray also has three other meters in their "Asure" product line. They seem to be higher quality meters? Not sure if they might be the generic version of someone else's meters...

Thanks so much to everyone for their information.

Using what I learned from you, I spoke to customer service at Arkray.

The Relion Ultima is not manufactured by Arkray. It is manufactured by Abbott. There is no equivalent Arkray meter.

The Relion Prime is manufactured by Arkray, and it is similar but not identical to the Arkray Vital. The Relion Prime and Arkray Vital strips ARE NOT interchangeable.

The Relion Confirm is the Arkray Glucocard 01. The Relion Confirm and Arkray Glucocard 01 strips ARE interchangeable.

The Relion Micro is the Arkray Glucocard 01 mini. The Relion Micro and Arkray Glucocard 01 mini strips ARE interchangeable.

The Arkray Assure meters are not sold retail. They are used in professional long-term care settings, like nursing homes.

Ug. That means I need to purchase a Prime meter then. I've got the Vital and thought they were.

Oh, well.

Confirm uses a smaller blood drop than Prime. Strips, however, are pricier because of that.
Choose based on cost ... or on how hard it is to get blood for testing.
