Elvis wouldn't eat when i got home from work yesterday. I gave her some cerenia, because she kept turning her head away from the food, but she wouldn't eat. I gave her sub q fluids , then started using a tiny syringe to get some wet food mixed with water into her. But its nowhere near enough. She has lost so much weight since first falling ill. Shes half herweight, her hipbones are jutting out. It hurts to see.
I've tried the usual - warming food, opening different kinds, different toppings, parmesan, bonito flakes, baby food. She doesnt want the syringed food but she'll swallow it - but i think i got maybe a tablespoon or two into her this morning before she got upset. Now she's huddled in a corner, sleeping.
Earlier this week she didnt want to eat & her vet gave me a shot of cerenia for her, which, coupled with some slippery elm, helped. But her vet also thought that she might be coming to the end of her road. But she jumped on the bed at 3 am, she enjoys being petted, she held her tail high as she walked to her catnip mat to take a good sniff.
I tested her last night & her bg was 90, by the way
