Ok I started Elmo on 1 unit PZI Yesterday am. I wanted to do a curve just to get an idea of what is going on ..

So here it is
MONDAY
630 am - 386
fed gave one unit
12:30 - 309 + 6
2:30 - 282 +8
3:30 - 307 +9

thats it so far... What do you think?

When I tested him Sunday

6:30 am 333
Fed and gave one unit
Kay at work
7pm - 366
Gave one unit ate at 5pm
12 am - 213 + 5 hours

My apologies my numbers are all over - I test him when I can.

He gets fed 3x daily at 6:30 am, 5pm and 10pm..

He looks great!! He is active and alert and seems to feel better.

I did the same thing, wanted a curve really early on.
It's not very meaningful this early on though, his body will need a few days to stabilize and figure out what's going on, so I wouldn't be reading too much into it yet.

Not very meaningful? It is meaningful if it prevents him from having a hypo and for my peace of mind no?

I am going away in 2 days and I wanted to start him on something rather than nothing and I have the opportunity to get some numbers during the day .

This is my third diabetic cat and I am trying to deal with the stress of this again .

Well, it looks like he will be ok while you are gone. He is dropping but not too low - lots of leeway there if you stay with 1u while you are gone.

Who will be giving him shots while you are away?

I'm sorry, I misunderstood. I thought you were looking for a pattern to see if it was going to be effective to bring his BG low enough.
But yes, definitely good to know that he's not going too low.
