Effects of antibiotics on blood glucose

Apologies for the slight cross-posting (original post here).

However, I am interested to receive some more general information as to the effects of antibiotics on blood glucose levels.

Infections raise BG, but what about when the infection appears to have passed (in this case a sinus/nasal issue) but the course of antibiotics is still ongoing? Are antibiotics theirself known to raise blood glucose levels? And do they tend to go back down after the course is finished?

Generally, it is the infection which raises the glucose level.

If you have the wrong antibiotic for the infection, it won't be of help, the infection may worsen, and thus the glucose levels continue to increase.
