My 4 yo Edgar was diagnosed with diabetes just last month. I wasn't even aware of the fact that so many cats (as well as their owners) go through the same until getting to this forum.
So far I've got so many great advice and ideas while reading all your thoughtful comments and stories. Everything in life is easier when you know you're not alone.
