We did our first home glucose testing today. My poor kitties ears have seen better days. How do you keep your cats ears from looking raw and poked up with testing multiple times a day?

As soon as I've gotten the blood on the strip, I press fairly firmly on the ear site while the meter counts down. No after-poke bleeding, no bruising.
