Dumbfounded: as though I gave no shot

320 six hours post-injection: Lantus 2.5. I wonder if I did an air shot, but I didn't smell anything. I am having a hard time getting this cat down. Pate only and high protein dry food (Evo, Wysong.) This is NOT good, and no, the Lantus is not expired.

What the heck. And of course, vet can't really help with this. His blood work was great two weeks ago, just had numbers still relatively high, but not this high.

Wonder if I should give another shot now? I love this little guy so much. Thoughts?

I wanted to post that quickly so you wouldn't reshoot - but now i'm looking at Mick Jagger's ss. I think you may be making dosing decisions (changing the dose) based upon the BG test you're getting at preshot. That's quite often the highest number of the 12 hr cycle. Lantus dosing is based upon the LOWEST point in the cycle, not the highest point.

Although now i'm realizing that the ss is old - can you put in the past 3-4 days so we can look at what's going on currently? I'd be glad to try to help you untangle the situation.

I agree with Julie. Don't re-shoot since you can never be 100% certain of how much insulin actually went in.

Do you have additional recent numbers to add to Mick Jagger's spreadsheet? That might help some of the more experienced users help you figure out what's going on with Mick Jagger.

ETA: I cross-posted with Julie. Sorry I repeated some of what she said.
