? Dropping- Mimi 10/6 AMPS 287+4 @238 PMPS 91 +2 61 +3 52

That is a decent drop, she may still be breaking that bounce. Can you stay up with her? See how she does with LC and check her at +3. I can't stay up with you but I do see Wendy floating around

Nadir seems to be about +6 to +8, little hard to say for sure. I'm going to tag @Bandit's Mom and hopefully she can assist.

Rough guidance, go with what whoever ends up helping you says - if she stays flat at +3, I'd give a little more LC and test again at +4.

If she's higher at +3, I'd hold off on food and check again +4.

If she's lower or in 50s I'd break out 1-2 tsp MC, food and test every 30 mins til flat or rising. Then a break from food if flat or rising, check in 30-60 mins.

If she's in 40s I'd give 2 tsp HC, test every 15 minutes til back above 50, then every 30 mins. 1 tsp MC when in 50s, HC if in 40s.

Any time under 40 I'd say 2 tsp HC and karo, test every 15 mins until above 50, then every 30 mins. Same deal as above...under 40 more HC and karo, in the 40s HC, 50s MC.

When you start getting towards +6 can be a little more conservative on the food; you still have awhile til nadir so I'm being a little more "aggressive" to keep BG up.

You have to keep testing until she's rising on her own after 2 hrs without food.

52 +3 haven’t fed since +2

should I do more LC or intervene with MC
MC at minimum, since I have to go to bed now I'd actually suggest 1-2 tsp HC to hopefully give you a buffer. Test again in 20-30 mins

She's dropping even with the LC, and awhile til nadir. Hence the MC/HC.

When in doubt always give higher carb food; the worst that happens is you send her too high but she's safe, and you now have a data point for when it happens next time.

This is where I get stuck a little on possible reduction- if I stay up and intervene with food how will I know if she ever dropped below 40 if I’m doing all I can to prevent it?

This is where we say if they want the reduction, they will "earn" it (was it you that found that a little controversial over in Think Tank? I can't remember).

You want to intervene to most importantly keep her safe, but also because they tend to hold reductions better when their body is ready - meaning no matter what food you give, they'll go that low anyway. That is how you the pancreas is working enough to warrant a reduction vs the insulin doing all the work.

If it's the insulin doing all the work because you just let it happen without intervention, you'd reduce and more than likely it would be a failed reduction and you have to go right back up (also maybe end up in the ER because BG beyond your ability to control at home).

well certainly something should bring her up to prevent hypo-‘like HC and corn syrup

Well I truly am off to bed - test again in about 20 minutes and hopefully one of the ladies stop by. Worst case, just keep giving higher carb food to keep her up.

Baby woke up lol

That's a decent bump so you hopefully don't have too much more work to do...but sometimes hard to say.

I'd hold off on food and test 30 mins from your last test. If you already gave more food then check in 45-60 mins from when you gave it.

Try to nap between tests and set a timer if you need sleep.

And now back to bed for me. I'll tag @Wendy&Neko again for you just in case the tag got lost

Edit: When you get a chance, please put the amount of food in the Remarks column as well. That way we have a reference point for the future.

Mimi is doing a bounce. I’m at work and dont have the exact AM number but it was like 140 something
Everything ok in case anyone is checking in on the tags now. She didn’t drop too much. Sticking with dose
