I was hoping someone could help me with two questions I have about Lenny’s spreadsheet. In the beginning of August I started using the two hour testing and it seems to help me in what direction he’s going. This is my usual day with feedings. I test/feed around 8 am and give him his shot. One hour later I feed him about a tsp of fancy feast or about 1/4 can. At two hours I test and sometimes give him another snack and sometimes not. I feed him at 4-1/2 hours. Lately I’ve been trying to skip his 4-1/2 hour test if his 2 hour test was around the 300 mark. I repeat this process in the evening, including setting my alarm at the 4-1/2 time. My questions are: 1. Is it OK that sometimes the 2 hour test might be higher than the preshot value? If I’m feeding at the 1 hour mark, could the insulin maybe not have kicked in yet and the extra food pushes it higher? 2. Why am I getting lower preshot values in the evening? Yesterday I tested him at the 8 hour mark and it was 200. I thought it would higher 4hours later but it dropped to 167. Today I have a low 4 hour value but I didn’t give him a snack at 2 hours so that could be my fault. Thank you for your help. Nancy
ProZinc doesn't usually start working for 2-3 hours, so not unusual. Looks like he's bouncing in the evening. I see he went low yesterday. That means he's earned a reduction. Lower the dose and let's see what happens. Do 1.25 and let's see.
